01:38 pm - Name that song
OK, I haven't done this in a while. I have put my mp3 player on shuffle play and here are the first few lyrics of the first ten songs that popped up.

How many can you name? I'm looking for title and artist, but I'll give partial credit for one or the other. Some are really easy. Some I'll be amazed if you get it. No googling the lyrics. That's cheating!

Note that if it's a cover, you need to get the artist I was listening to, not the original recording artist. How will you know? You won't until you guess.

If the song is from a movie, you also need to give me the title of the movie.

In the case of #7, there was dialog before the lyrics started. The line is the first line sung in the song.

1. My daughter needs a new phonograph.
2. Does he love me? I wanna know. (title jadasc)
3. Mister Horrible. (title, artist, jadasc)
* - The Spike Jones version of Powerhouse came up and it doesn't have lyrics.
4. Some things were perfectly clear seen with the vision of youth.
5. I can’t help my feelings; I’ll go out of my mind.
6. When the trumpet of the Lord shall sound, and time shall be no more…
7. [dialog expunged] I make a very dry martini. (title, artist, movie, ferretd)
8. In every job there must be done… (title; artist, title of movie satyr69)
* - The track "The Trashing of the Car" from the Ragtime soundtrack came up. It has no lyrics, only dialog.
9. Hang your collar up inside. Hang your dollar on me.
10. I sued Taco Bell ‘cause I ate half a million chalupas and I got fat. (title, artist jadasc)

Hints:
2 songs are parodies.
The three songs from "musicals" all came from the movie versions.
For 1 song, the lyrics were so indistinct that I had to look them up.

Good luck! Enjoy!

In your WTF search, have you ever seen the Llama Llama Duck song or the Kenya song? I often wonder what the folks that made those were thinking.
