10:13 pm - Wow! OK, this sort of thing happens so rarely that it needs to be noted.
My ebay password was hacked, I assume while I was at dinner, and ebay closed my account and sent me an e-mail.
Sure enough, I couldn't log in (no, I didn't click on a link in the letter, I opened up a new browser window and typed http://www.ebay.com in the address bar.)
I had to go to live chat with an ebay representative.
Sal S. removed the block on my account, changed my password, and got me to log in in a matter of minutes, all while being friendly and professional.
So, kudos to ebay for finding the hack; closing my account in a timely manner; refunding any fees; and having quick, professional customer service.
I know a bank that could learn a lot from you.

Cool, more success then me, I had to abandon my eBay account.
Was this tonight as well? The more I think about it, the more I think it was a false positive. Not sure though. Sorry about your account.
My yahoo addy (old one) got hacked back in Sept, and my bank was very very helpful, since they managed to hack my paypal through my-e-credit statements from my bank. (Paypal was really helpful too). Yahoo, not helpful at all.
I'm glad this worked out quickly for you.

No, several years ago - both my Yahoo and eBay accounts had gotten hacked at the same time, the Yahoo I was able to get back by constantly harrassing Yahoo for several weeks, eBay I eventually gave up on. |
